Our Vision
The vision of New Designs Charter Management Organization is to create, enrich, and empower schools that produce highly skilled scholars and leaders.
CMO Responsibilities
The CMO manages all the fiscal, human resources, and state and federal compliance for all schools under the New Designs Charter Schools umbrella. It centralizes all the responsibilities to all authorizing agencies and to the school sites themselves.
CMO Organization
The board of directors is at the top of the organizational chart for the CMO, and the chief executive officer (CEO) answers to the board. The CEO also serves as the superintendent for all three of our charter schools. The board of directors must approve any school policy related matters.
Authorizing Agency
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is the authorizing agency for the CMO and our charter schools. Under charter school law, New Designs maintains a certain level of autonomy; however, every five years we must seek reapproval from LAUSD to stay in operation.
