Mrs. Kim Smith
Being an educator is a very rewarding experience. There is no greater joy than the ability to make a difference in a young person’s life. For this reason, I made the decision over 12 years ago to become an educator. As a child, I was educated in the Los Angeles public school system. I attended Windsor Hills Elementary, Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES), and University High School. I earned my Bachelors degree from Prairie View A&M University in Texas, and my Masters degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by great teachers. Not just by the teachers that influenced my education, but also by my numerous family members who were teachers as well. I was enthused by their dedication to not only their careers, but also to the many students that they taught, encouraged and inspired.

I graciously look forward to not only working with the staff and parents here at New Designs Charter School, but also to motivating and stimulating the minds of these young scholars to ensure that they gain an education that will prove to be invaluable.
