The New Designs Charter School is an example of a school where the lines between "technical" and "academic" are intentionally blurred. We are dedicated to providing a career-based, college-preparatory program for students in South Los Angeles. Our goal is to prepare our students for advanced careers in the fields of Medicine, Engineering and Information Technology. To that end, all students are provided a strong foundation in mathematics, science, technology and the arts. This year we are operating from grades 6th through 12th (for University Park campus) and 6th through 10th (for Watts campus). As a 6th through 12th grade school, we are creating a seamless pathway from middle to high school.
